Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities

The Sedona Women — Community Service Opportunities

The Community Service Committee is excited about our upcoming calendar of events.

If you have an idea for a future project, please let us know.  The TSW general guidelines for a community project are below.  Also, The Sedona Women consider what projects are already committed on the calendar and the availability of volunteers.

 1)  A clear, defined need; and
 2)  An opportunity for our membership to participate in the execution of a worthwhile project, which in turn, offers members a
platform to get to know each other better.

We look forward to hearing from you or seeing you at one of our Volunteer Events below.

Donate Pet Food and Supplies at the March 14 General Meeting

The Humane Society of Sedona (HSS) needs our help taking care of the dogs and cats under their care until they can find their forever homes. Currently, they need wet and dry kitten food, dry cat food, and small-breed dog food. In addition, they could use cat break-away collars and unscented cat litter. You can either bring these to our upcoming meeting on March 14th or, if you prefer, you can go online to their Wish List on Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/gp/registry/wishlist/3M97WR3IJ1QC9/ref=cm_sw_em_r_z_g__wb and your gift will be delivered directly to HSS. You can also deliver your gift to the HSS shelter at 2115 Shelby Drive in West Sedona. Your gift will be deeply appreciated.

Oak Creek Cleanup March 19

Sign up now for this worthwhile and fun opportunity on Tuesday, March 19. We will meet at 8:30am at Indian Gardens on Route 89A in the canyon. Under the leadership of the Oak Creek Watershed Council staff and volunteers, we will be divided into groups depending on ability and clean up several areas in Oak Creek Canyon. ALL abilities welcome! Friends welcome to sign up and come with you!

The Oak Creek Watershed Council provides gloves, buckets, vests, pickers, and leadership. They will take the trash and weigh it when we are finished, and we'll take a photo to show off our efforts. Plan on arriving by 8:30am, when we'll review safety protocols and hand out equipment. Then we'll drive to various pullouts along the creek and pick up trash.

By 11:00am we will return to Indian Gardens and return equipment. Those who want to continue the fun are invited to join for lunch at Indian Gardens if it is open that day. To sign up or for more information, contact Pam DeLay, delaypamela@gmail.com.

The Sedona Community Food Bank Needs Your Continued Help!

Your Food Bank is always in need of non-perishables for those in need.  The Food Bank especially appreciates donations of condiments, cold cereal, Progresso soups, canned meats, juices, crackers and chips.  Drop food off at the Food Bank at 30 Inspirational Drive (note the new address) any Monday, Tuesday, or Thursday between 8am and 11am.
